Those special sunsets

The sun sets everywhere, everyday, behind the silhouettes of concrete in busy urban settings, reflecting it's amber rays against the towering glass skyscrapers vying for attention; and at the far ends of the lush water filled dark green paddies adjacent to the ever moving busy interstate highways; It retires unceremoniously, obscurely hidden by the high rise flyovers in middle income cities in the heartlands of developing countries. It sinks daily in the salty expanses of the turquoise oceans, leaving hues of deep orange and crimson on the progressively darkening twilight, eventually swallowing all light in its wake. It sets on a schedule, with diligence unparalleled, for anyone interested to see it's miracle, but not all eyes appreciate the spectacle and it's consistent brilliance, for they are often clouded by the busy schedules, the persistent fairytales manifesting in the mind, the unending worldly stimuli and other worries, ongoings and distractions of the daily mundane.

Rare are the dusks when the eyes search for, the mind looks forward to the sunset. The vision wanders to the distant horizon, ever so often, stealing glances between its meanderings otherwise. These occurrences manifest effortlessly in conducive settings - in places where the mind is at peace, enthralled in pleasure of the elements, at rest and at one with nature; these are places where even the sun lingers for that bit longer, appreciating the stark engulfing beauty, before drawing the curtains on the day.
